What is homogeneous coordinates?
Homogeneous coordinates: A way of writing points with one extra coordinate so that shifts as well as rotations and scalings become single matrix multiplications. It is common in graphics and computer vision and is how bias terms can be folded into weights.
Homogeneous coordinates: an example
The 2-D point (3, 4) is written as [3, 4, 1], and a translation by (5, 2) becomes a 3 x 3 matrix acting on it.
