What is rotation matrix?
Rotation matrix: An orthogonal matrix with determinant 1 that turns vectors around the origin by a fixed angle without changing their lengths. In 2-D it is [[cos t, -sin t],[sin t, cos t]] for angle t.
Rotation matrix: an example
With t = 90 degrees the matrix is [[0,-1],[1,0]] and sends [1, 0] to [0, 1].
