What is affine transformation?
Affine transformation (also called Affine map): A linear transformation followed by adding a fixed vector, so it can also shift points. A neural network layer computes one, W x + b, before applying its non-linear activation.
Affine transformation: an example
y = [[2,0],[0,3]] x + [1, 1] stretches the axes and then moves every point by [1, 1].
