What is augmented matrix?
Augmented matrix: A matrix formed by attaching the right-hand-side column of a linear system to its coefficient matrix, so row operations can be applied to the whole system at once during elimination.
Augmented matrix: an example
For x + 2y = 5 and 3x - y = 1, the augmented matrix is [[1,2 | 5],[3,-1 | 1]].
