What is system of linear equations?
System of linear equations (also called Linear system): A set of equations in which each unknown appears only to the first power and is multiplied by a constant. It can be written compactly as A x = b, and may have one solution, none, or infinitely many.
System of linear equations: an example
x + 2y = 5 and 3x - y = 1 give x = 1, y = 2, written as [[1,2],[3,-1]] [x, y] = [5, 1].
