What is probability axioms?
Probability axioms (also called Kolmogorov axioms): Three basic rules, laid down by Kolmogorov, from which all of probability follows: every event has probability of at least 0, the whole sample space has probability 1, and for events that cannot occur together the probability of any one of them happening is the sum of their individual probabilities.
Probability axioms: an example
If P(rain) = 0.3 and P(snow) = 0 in Bengaluru, and they cannot co-occur, P(rain or snow) = 0.3 + 0 = 0.3. No probability may be negative or exceed 1.
