What is random sampling?
Random sampling: Selecting items from a population in a way that every item has a known, non-zero chance of being chosen, with the choice left to chance. It guards against personal bias and makes probability theory applicable to results.
Random sampling: an example
Assigning each of 10,000 users a random number and taking the 500 with the smallest numbers.
