What is HSV (HSV colour space)?
HSV colour space (also called HSV): A way of describing colour by hue (the type of colour), saturation (how vivid it is) and value (how bright it is) instead of red-green-blue mixtures. Separating colour from brightness makes it easier to pick objects by colour under changing light.
HSV colour space: an example
To find ripe red tomatoes on a conveyor belt, a script keeps pixels whose hue falls in the red range and saturation is high, ignoring shadow-driven brightness changes.
