What is multi-stage build?
Multi-stage build: A Dockerfile technique that uses several FROM steps: an early stage installs compilers and build tools, and a later stage copies only the finished output into a small clean image. The result is a lean final image that excludes tools needed only during building.
Multi-stage build: an example
A team compiles a C++ tokenizer in a heavy build stage, then copies just the compiled library into a slim runtime stage, shrinking the image by hundreds of megabytes.
