What is full rank?
Full rank (also called Full column rank): A matrix whose rank equals the smaller of its row and column counts, meaning it has as much independent information as its shape allows. A square full-rank matrix is invertible.
Full rank: an example
A 100 x 5 feature matrix whose 5 columns are independent has rank 5, so it is full rank.
