What is horizontal flip?
Horizontal flip: An augmentation that mirrors an image left to right. It is safe for most natural scenes but wrong where orientation carries meaning, such as text or digits. It doubles the variety of many datasets at almost no cost.
Horizontal flip: an example
Flipping a photo of a dog keeps the label; flipping the digit 2 makes it look like a different symbol.
