What is standard output?
Standard output (also called stdout): The default channel a program writes its normal results to, usually shown on screen but redirectable to a file or the next command. Keeping results here and messages elsewhere lets programs be combined cleanly.
Standard output: an example
echo hello writes hello to standard output; echo hello > out.txt sends it into a file instead.
