What is predictive parity?
Predictive parity (also called predictive value parity): A fairness criterion requiring that precision, the share of positive predictions that turn out correct, is equal across groups. A high score then means the same thing for everyone. It can conflict with equalized odds when groups have different base rates.
Predictive parity: an example
If 70% of applicants flagged as 'low risk' actually repay in one group, predictive parity expects roughly 70% in the other group too.
