What is equalized odds?
Equalized odds: A fairness criterion requiring that a classifier has the same true positive rate and the same false positive rate for every group. In other words, qualified and unqualified people are treated alike whichever group they belong to, which links fairness to the model's error rates.
Equalized odds: an example
A fraud model catches 80% of real fraud and wrongly flags 5% of honest customers in every language group; if it wrongly flags 15% in one group, equalized odds is violated.
