What is HA (high availability)?
High availability (also called HA): Designing a system to keep working through failures of individual parts by running redundant copies, usually across several machines or data centres, with automatic failover. It is measured by uptime targets such as 99.9%.
High availability: an example
A service runs on three servers in two zones so that losing one machine or zone does not stop it.
