What is image scanning?
Image scanning: Automatically inspecting a container image's packages and libraries against databases of known security vulnerabilities before it is deployed. Pipelines can fail a build when serious findings appear, catching risky dependencies early.
Image scanning: an example
A scan of a model-serving image flags an outdated OpenSSL library with a critical flaw, and the pipeline blocks the release until the base image is updated.
