What is ingress?
Ingress: A Kubernetes object, working with an ingress controller, that routes external HTTP and HTTPS requests into the cluster by hostname or URL path. It centralises tasks such as TLS certificates and path-based routing behind one entry point.
Ingress: an example
Requests to `api.example.in/chat` go to the chat service while `api.example.in/search` go to the search service, both through one ingress.
