What is Kubernetes Secret?
Kubernetes Secret (also called Secret): A Kubernetes object meant for sensitive values such as passwords and API keys, delivered to pods separately from images and code. By default the values are only base64-encoded, so encryption at rest and tight access rules are needed for real protection.
Kubernetes Secret: an example
An LLM gateway pod receives its provider API key from a Secret instead of having it written into the source code.
