What is API gateway?
API gateway: A single entry point placed in front of many backend services that handles common tasks such as routing, authentication, rate limiting and logging before passing requests on. It keeps these concerns out of each service.
API gateway: an example
A gateway checks the API key, applies a limit of 100 requests per minute, then routes /chat to the model service.
