What is IAM role?
IAM role: A cloud identity with a set of permissions that trusted users, services or workloads can temporarily assume, instead of using long-lived passwords or keys. Attaching roles to machines and pods removes the need to embed credentials in code.
IAM role: an example
A serving pod assumes a role that lets it read model files from one bucket, with no access key stored anywhere.
