What is dependency pinning?
Dependency pinning: Fixing the exact versions of libraries a project uses, for example in a lock file, so builds and deployments install identical packages every time. It prevents surprise breakages when a library publishes a new release.
Dependency pinning: an example
A requirements file lists `numpy==1.26.4` rather than `numpy`, so a build next month still uses the same version.
