What is rank-one matrix?
Rank-one matrix: A matrix that can be written as a single column vector times a single row vector, so all its rows are multiples of one another. It is the simplest non-zero matrix and the building block of low-rank and SVD sums.
Rank-one matrix: an example
The matrix [[2,4],[3,6]] equals [2, 3] as a column times [1, 2] as a row, so its rank is 1.
