What is matrix?
Matrix: A rectangular grid of numbers arranged in rows and columns. It can store a whole dataset (one row per example), a set of weights in a neural network layer, or represent a linear transformation that moves and reshapes vectors.
Matrix: an example
A dataset of 500 customers with 12 features is a 500 x 12 matrix; the weight matrix of a layer mapping 12 inputs to 4 outputs is 12 x 4.
