What is null space?
Null space (also called Kernel): The set of all vectors that a matrix sends to the zero vector. Its size shows how much information the matrix destroys, and it exists nontrivially exactly when the columns are dependent.
Null space: an example
For A = [[1,2],[2,4]], the vector [2, -1] gives A x = [0, 0], so it lies in the null space.
