What is resolution?
Resolution: The number of pixels in an image along its width and height, which sets how much fine detail it can hold. Higher resolution keeps small objects visible but costs more memory and compute, so vision models usually resize inputs to a fixed working resolution.
Resolution: an example
A model trained on 224 x 224 inputs receives a 4000 x 3000 phone photo only after it is resized down, so a tiny distant object may shrink to a few pixels.

Where you learn it
Resolution is part of the AI Engineering Program, which teaches it with notes, a hands-on lab and an exam. The first lesson is free.
