What is pixel?
Pixel: The smallest addressable element of a digital image, holding one or more numbers that describe brightness or colour at a single location. An image is a grid of pixels, so its resolution and file size grow with the number of pixels along its width and height.
Pixel: an example
A 1920 x 1080 photo contains 1920 x 1080 = 2,073,600 pixels, and in an 8-bit RGB image each pixel stores three values between 0 and 255.
