What is RANSAC?
RANSAC: Random Sample Consensus, an algorithm that fits a model to data containing many wrong points by repeatedly fitting to random small samples and keeping the model that most points agree with. In vision it removes bad feature matches when estimating a homography.
RANSAC: an example
Of 500 matches, 150 are wrong; RANSAC finds the homography supported by the other 350 and ignores the outliers.
