What is morphological operations?
Morphological operations: Image operations that reshape white regions in a binary image using a small pattern called a structuring element. Erosion shrinks regions, dilation grows them, opening removes small specks and closing fills small holes.
Morphological operations: an example
Applying erosion then dilation (opening) to a thresholded image removes isolated white dots while keeping large blobs nearly unchanged.
