What is SSH key?
SSH key (also called SSH key pair): A pair of linked files used for passwordless login: a private key kept secret on your machine and a public key placed on the server or GitHub. The server checks that you hold the matching private key, without it being sent.
SSH key: an example
ssh-keygen -t ed25519 creates the pair, and you paste id_ed25519.pub into GitHub settings to push code without typing a password.
