What is reset?
Reset (also called git reset): A command that moves the current branch pointer to another commit and, depending on mode, also updates the staging area and working files. Soft keeps changes staged, mixed unstages them, and hard discards them.
Reset: an example
git reset --soft HEAD~1 undoes the last commit but keeps its changes staged.
