What is secret leakage?
Secret leakage (also called Leaked credentials): Accidentally exposing credentials such as API keys or tokens, commonly by committing them to a repository. Even after deletion, they remain in history and may be scraped, so exposed keys must be revoked and replaced.
Secret leakage: an example
An OpenAI key pushed in a config file to a public repo is quickly abused; the owner must revoke it immediately.
