What is amend?
Amend (also called Commit amend): Modifying the most recent commit, by adding forgotten changes or correcting its message, so it replaces the previous commit instead of adding another one. It rewrites history, so avoid it after publishing the commit.
Amend: an example
git commit --amend -m 'Fix typo in README' changes the last commit message.
