What is contestability?
Contestability (also called right to contest): The ability of people affected by an automated decision to challenge it and obtain human review and correction. Building it requires giving people notice, reasons, a channel to appeal and reviewers with authority to change the outcome.
Contestability: an example
A rejected job applicant can click 'request review' and a recruiter reassesses the case within a set number of days.
