What is Copyright and AI training data?
Copyright and AI training data (also called AI copyright): The legal question of whether copying copyrighted books, images, code or articles to train AI models is permitted, and who owns AI outputs. Courts and legislators in different countries are still deciding, so teams keep records of data sources and licences.
Copyright and AI training data: an example
A publisher sues an AI company over training on its articles; meanwhile another firm signs a licence with the publisher to use the same content.
