What is right to explanation?
Right to explanation: The idea that people affected by an automated decision should be able to obtain a meaningful account of how it was reached. Its exact scope in law is debated: some rules give rights to information about the logic involved rather than a full explanation of each decision.
Right to explanation: an example
A customer whose insurance claim was auto-rejected asks the insurer what factors led to the decision and how to have a person review it.
