What is population?
Population: The full set of individuals, items or events that a question is about, from which a sample may be drawn. Its numerical characteristics, such as its mean, are fixed but usually unknown.
Population: an example
All registered voters in Karnataka form a population; a survey of 2,000 of them is a sample.
