What is data versioning?
Data versioning: Tracking changes to datasets over time, like source control does for code, so any model can be linked to the exact data it was trained on. Tools such as DVC store lightweight pointers in git while the large files sit in object storage.
Data versioning: an example
A model card points to dataset version v12; checking out that version restores the same 2 million rows.
