What is CD (continuous delivery)?
Continuous delivery (also called CD): The practice of keeping software always in a releasable state by automatically building, testing and preparing every change for deployment, with a human approving the final push to production. Continuous deployment removes even that manual approval.
Continuous delivery: an example
After tests pass, a build is deployed to staging automatically, and a lead clicks one button to release it to production.
