What is super-resolution?
Super-resolution: The task of increasing the resolution of an image or video while recovering plausible fine detail. Methods range from interpolation to CNNs, GANs and diffusion models that hallucinate realistic texture consistent with the low-resolution input.
Super-resolution: an example
A 480p cricket clip is upscaled to 1080p, with the model synthesising sharper jersey text and grass texture.
