What is text-to-image generation?
Text-to-image generation: The task of producing an image from a written description. Modern systems encode the text into vectors and use them to condition a generative model, usually a diffusion model, so the result matches objects, style and layout described in the prompt.
Text-to-image generation: an example
Typing 'a Kerala houseboat at sunrise, watercolour' returns four candidate paintings within seconds.
