What is TTS (text-to-speech)?
Text-to-speech (also called TTS, Speech synthesis): Technology that turns written text into natural-sounding spoken audio. Current systems predict an acoustic representation such as a mel spectrogram from text, then convert it to a waveform with a neural vocoder, or generate audio tokens directly.
Text-to-speech: an example
A banking app reads account alerts aloud in Tamil using a synthetic voice.
