What is prosody?
Prosody: The rhythm, stress, pitch and intonation of speech that carry emphasis, emotion and sentence type beyond the words themselves. Good TTS must model it or the voice sounds flat and robotic.
Prosody: an example
Raising pitch at the end of 'You are coming?' marks it as a question, while the same words with falling pitch are a statement.
