What is G2P (grapheme-to-phoneme)?
Grapheme-to-phoneme (also called G2P): The step of converting written letters into the sounds used to pronounce them, by dictionary lookup or a trained model. It helps TTS systems pronounce names and unusual words correctly.
Grapheme-to-phoneme: an example
A G2P model maps the spelling 'Bengaluru' to a phoneme sequence so a voice assistant says it properly.
