What is late fusion?
Late fusion: A multimodal design in which each modality is processed by its own model and their outputs or predictions are combined at the end, for example by averaging scores. It is simple and modular but captures less cross-modal interaction.
Late fusion: an example
A video classifier averages the predictions of an image model and an audio model.
