What is cumulative gains chart?
Cumulative gains chart (also called gains chart, gain curve): A chart that ranks cases from highest to lowest predicted score and plots the share of all true positives captured against the share of the population contacted. It shows how much a model beats random selection and is common in marketing and credit risk.
Cumulative gains chart: an example
If a marketing model's top 20% of customers by score contain 60% of all buyers, the gains chart passes through the point (20%, 60%).
