What is thread?
Thread: A unit of execution within a process. Threads of one process share the same memory, so they communicate easily but can also interfere with each other, which makes shared data need careful protection.
Thread: an example
A web scraper can start 10 threads within one process so that one thread's wait for a slow site does not block the rest.
