What is FPN (feature pyramid network)?
Feature pyramid network (also called FPN): An architecture that builds feature maps at several scales, combining deep, semantically strong low-resolution features with shallow high-resolution ones through a top-down path. It improves detection of objects of different sizes.
Feature pyramid network: an example
A distant, tiny pedestrian is detected on a fine-scale map while a nearby bus is found on a coarse one.
