What is upsampling?
Upsampling: Increasing the height and width of a feature map or image, by fixed interpolation or by a learned layer. Segmentation, super-resolution and feature pyramids all need it to bring coarse features back to fine resolution.
Upsampling: an example
Bilinear upsampling by 2 turns a 16 x 16 mask prediction into a 32 x 32 one.
