What is significance level?
Significance level (also called Alpha): The threshold chosen before a test for the largest p-value at which the null hypothesis will be rejected, equal to the accepted chance of a false alarm. The usual choice is 0.05.
Significance level: an example
With a level of 0.05, a p-value of 0.03 leads to rejecting the null hypothesis, while 0.08 does not.
