What is standard error of the mean?
Standard error of the mean: The standard deviation of a statistic across repeated samples. It measures how precisely the statistic estimates the population value; for a sample average it is s / sqrt(n), so quadrupling the data halves it.
Standard error of the mean: an example
With s = 20 minutes and n = 100 deliveries, the standard error of the average is 20 / 10 = 2 minutes.
